This week we’ve been presenting our work at a meeting for headteachers of Special Educational Needs schools in the Lancashire area. We are talking about a recent pilot we did for Astley Park School in Chorley. There we created an interactive virtual tour of all the learning spaces, inside and outside of the building. The end product is a brilliant tool for any student in transition.
One of the main anxieties for parents and new students is transitioning to a new school. Will they settle in? How will they handle a new environment? What is going to cause any anxieties? The usual route for parents and students is to attend an open day event, or a more personal 1-to-1 visit to the school in question. This itself can cause a great deal of anxiety. In addition these types of appointments and visits are not always appropriate for people who work during the week, and sometimes they require parents to take annual leave to attend a visit, which is not always a viable option. iRoam reduces the need for the personal 1-to-1 visits and allows parents and students to familiarise themselves with the school from the comfort of their own home, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
So if you think your school could benefit from a truly interactive virtual tour, get in touch!
